- Speak slowly and clearly. When the interviewer asks a question, don’t rush into giving an answer without thinking carefully. It’s better to remain silent than give a wrong answer.
- Always try to give a balanced answer. Give both sides of the answer. For example, if you are asked why you chose SQL over NOSQL, give the pros and cons of each of type.
- Always only talk about things that you are familiar with and stray away from mentioning tools or technologies that you are unfamiliar with. For example, if the interviewer asks you what’s the alternative of REST API. Don’t reply Graphql if you have only worked briefly with it. Think of an alternative, could be Kafka, that you are familiar with, have worked with, and are able to elaborate and reason clearly.
- Be specific in your answer. Try to go in depth instead of giving general answers.
